Tasting Notes

Double barrel-aged sour stout that spent time in bourbon barrels followed by rum barrels. Tart of Darkness starts as a stout then goes wild with souring bacteria and wild yeast at Bruery Terreux. You'll taste tart plums, roasted coffee, vanilla and oak with rum notes adding complexity. At 9.7% ABV, it's layered and lingering, tart and dry with wonderful rum barrel character. Not many breweries nail the sour stout style, but this one's proof it's worth pursuing.
